Fork compacted areas
Areas of the lawn that gets frequently over the summer period will become compact and need forking to break up soil helping with the drainage of your lawn when the typical British weather gives us rain. Only dig your fork down to about four to six inches to get enough aeration and drainage.
Autumn is a great time to aerate your lawn as the grass continues to grow the weather is the perfect temperature and conditions.
Autumn Lawn Feed
Summer lawn feeds are soft and easily damaged by frost so we only recommend using autumn lawn feed.
Autumn feed that’s low in nitrogen and high in potash to strengthen your grass, toughening your lawn ready for the winter months.
Sweep up Autumn LeavesUsing a rake or a leaf blower, remove any leaves and other debris that may have fallen onto your lawn. Leaving this debris on your lawn will rot the top of your grass and damage your lawn.
Adjust Your Mower Height
As the weather starts to get colder lawns rate of growth will decrease. Raising the height that your mower cuts your grass and keeping your mower blades sharp will help to keep your lawn quality of care.
